Long time no Type....

Okay guys so I have not made a post in a while but I really do have some things I need to show you. I have been busy shooting recent weddings and portraits and will share some of that work with you in the next couple of posts but first I had this really wild experience yesterday that I wanted to share. It has nothing to do with my work but I do have a photograph to share with you.

Anyway, yesterday I am sitting in my home office editing the last wedding I shot and I hear this whack sound. I look around thinking one of my dogs has knocked something over but did not see anything out of the ordinary. So I get up and go outside thinking it must have been something that hit the window and sure enough I see a bird laying on the patio. Well any of you that know me know I am a huge animal lover and it broke my heart to see the poor bird laying there so I ran over to him (i guess it was a him just as easily could have been a her) and picked him up. This was not just some little sparrow but a WILD HAWK!! He was not dead as I had feared but quite stunned so I took him to a quite spot on the backside of my patio where my dogs could not bother him and left him there while I went and got my husband. When I returned he was able to stand up and started spreading his wings and moved around a bit so i figured he was okay and would fly himself on out of there but he didn`t. He stayed with me for almost a half hour and let me pet him and feed him some turkey my husband had brought out.

Now, I knew I had to call my assistant, Farrah, becasue she has this huge love of Hawks so I thought she would want to see this. She came right over and he stayed just long enough for her to walk towards where we were sitting. At that point he spread his wings and took flight into the trees.

They say that Hawks bring good fortune. I already feel so fortunate to be living where I do, making a living doing what I love and to have such a wonderful husband, family and great friends!! But hey I will always welcome more happiness into my heart and my family.

Below is a snapshot that Dino took of me and Henry (yeah we named him) . You gotta disregard the fact that I look like a bum in the pic. Being able to dress that comfortable while doing my daily editing is one of the perks of my profession!!

Thanks for the visit Henry it made my day! I am just sorry you ended up with a headahce out of the deal.
