Kristin + Tod's Wedding....

Tod and Kristin are sooo likeable! I especially enjoyed being a part of their wedding day.

Their big event took place at The Empire Room on the 48th floor of 1401 Elm in downtown Dallas. I have shot at this venue a few times. Its a beautiful venue with an elegant feeling.

Kristin and Tod were obviously enchanted with each other all evening allowing us and the great Peter Bihari from Time Piece DVD to capture some excellent moments. Peter it was a really pleasure to meet and work with you. I hope to do it again soon!

Tod is a pure romantic. When I asked where they were headed for the honeymoon he quietly pressed his finger to his lips and said "shhh I can't tell you it's a secret" and flashed a very sweet smile at his new bride. Kristin has no idea of the location and Tod was not about to let it out of the bag!!!

Well, Kristin wherever Tod whisked you off too I hope you both have a glorious time and enjoy this little peak at your images upon your return.

And check out this sweet slide show Peter made for me from some of the images I captured throughout the day! Thanks again Peter!

Photo Studio Construction Progress...

Hey Guys,
I am really excited to see that we have had some real progress happening with the construction of the new photography studio. For those of you who do not already know we are in the progress of building a brand photo studio on 9 acres in Gun Barrel City, Texas.

The construction is well under way now. As you will see in the following images we are going from raw land, fully covered in trees with no utilities to eventually having a full photo studio as well as many outdoor photo settings that will allow a HUGE variety of choices for portraits of any kind.

Before the removal of some trees and underbrush on the first acre.

After clearing that first acre Dino visualizes where things will be placed.

Starting the forms.
Men at work...

Everything starts with a good foundation!

We now have beams! Its kind of starting to look like something! So this is where we are at the moment. They are supposed to be working on it as we speak. I will post more as it makes progress. I am so excited. I have sooo many ideas! I can't wait to shoot your portrait in the new facilities!!

I had a very enjoyable July 4th shooting the wedding of Brannon and Lauren.

Their wedding ceremony was held in a small church in Athens, Texas the celebration that followed was held at Lakeview Lodge in Athens.

The love between these two is obvious. I enjoyed capturing their fun loving personalities alongside some sweet and tender moments.

Youlien & Jay's E-session...

The first thing Youlien said to me was "we don't like to have a picture taken". Well, of course, this is not a thing a photographer wants to hear. But when I do encounter this kind of resistance it makes me determined to make the experience a fun one!

I don't mean to brag here (okay so maybe I do a just a little) but it didn't take me but a few minutes to get Jay and Youlien into the groove and enjoying my process. An hour flew by and all of a sudden Youlien said" I wish we had put more money into the parking meter so we wouldn't have to rush back to the car". At that point I knew I had change her perception of what it is to have portraits made.

We had a great time walking around West End and capturing some wonderfully meaningful and fun images. Here are a few of my favorites.
